Study of Patterns within Number Bracelets
Public Deposited- Abstract
- Getting students engaged in a classroom can be difficult, but we can use various exercises to engage students and encourage them to be involved in classroom activities. This paper explores the idea of including games within the classroom environment to promote learning among students. One of those exercises could be exploring the concepts of the number bracelets and the patterns present in them. Number bracelets can be a foundation for several aspects of mathematics, including permutations, combinations, Fibonacci and Tribonacci sequences, and modular arithmetic, which can be expanded into number theory concepts. In this paper, we will show how using different mods changes the data we observe with standard mod10 number bracelets and explore several other topics like length, number of distinct bracelets, parity, etc.
