Patient Rights: Understanding End of Life Care
Public Deposited- Abstract
- While it is important to highlight the significance of healthcare, oftentimes patients do not always feel heard by their provider. When it comes to euthanasia, it is a controversial topic because it puts into question what is known and what each person believes is ethically correct. This debate has made it harder for patients to advocate for themselves and adequately express their medical wishes. This paper will include different experiences that people have faced when it comes to end of life care. It will also discuss the Hippocratic Oath and different requirements or difficulties that are imposed geographically. There are many laws that go in favor or against patients, which often puts into question what providers should do. Overall, it is a situation that is not only faced by the patient, but also doctors, nurses, and family members. It is important to put the well being of each patient first and to respectfully treat each case. It is difficult to have a terminal diagnosis, but each person should be able to pass away with dignity.
